About the Universe
What is the Wildheart Universe?
The First Ones are older than any surviving record, their existence woven into the earliest foundations of creation. They are believed to have shaped the forces that would become the Primordial Seven, setting in motion patterns whose influence still reaches across the universe.
Beyond that, almost nothing is known with certainty.
No surviving account explains when the First Ones crossed the stars, what they sought, or whether they still exist. Some traditions remember them as architects. Others describe wanderers, observers, or something stranger. Even the oldest stories disagree on whether they left the universe behind or became part of it.
What remains is the universe shaped in their wake.
Across the Wildheart Universe, galaxies are divided into sectors, each with its own histories, civilizations, conflicts, and understanding of the cosmos beyond its borders.
Some sectors have reached outward and learned they aren't alone. Others possess only fragments, myths, or distant rumors. Some civilizations remain too young to understand what lies beyond their own skies, while others have already learned that the space between stars holds far more than emptiness.
No two sectors face the same future. Some encounter forces from deep space. Some remain isolated from them. Some uncover truths that others will never know.
Each sector stands as its own story, shaped by its own people, dangers, and discoveries.
Together, they form the Wildheart Universe.

KOVARA
SCTR-52 is an anomaly unlike any other known sector, shaped around Phanteras, the phantom planet created during the Hour of Convergence in the wake of Supernova Polaris. As the system collapsed, species, territories, and remnants from several worlds were drawn into a single sealed reality, while those that failed to complete convergence were destroyed with the worlds they once inhabited. Phanteras became both refuge and prison, cut off from the greater universe, believed to be impervious from the outside and impossible to escape from within.
What survived was not one world, but the remains of many. Teras, Halcyon, Caelus, and fragments of civilizations long since lost were forced into the same unstable inheritance, where histories collided beneath catastrophe, divine intervention, conquest, plague, and the influence of the Primordial Seven. Entire cultures were reshaped by forces larger than themselves, some rebuilding over ruins they barely understood, others disappearing beneath powers that altered the course of the sector for generations.
Life endured despite it all. Nations reformed, cultures adapted, and new powers rose from what remained, carrying pieces of dead worlds into a future none of them had been meant to share. SCTR-52 still exists in isolation, bound to Phanteras and to the memory of everything consumed by its creation, while the people within continue beneath forces older than their recorded history. Whether the phantom planet was made only to contain disaster, or whether its isolation serves some greater purpose, remains unknown.
VELROSE
SCTR-226 is a modern supernatural sector shared by humans, vampires, and shifters. Cities have grown around all three, shaping schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, nightlife, sports, families, and the quieter routines people rarely think twice about.
The continent changed centuries ago after a series of conflicts fractured the former United States and left several nations in its place. Each developed differently, carrying its own laws, customs, prejudices, traditions, and ideas about personal freedom. Crossing a border can mean entering a place with different expectations about who you are, what protections you have, and what kind of future is open to you. Some regions changed quickly. Others held tightly to older systems long after the rest of the continent moved on.
Most stories in SCTR-226 begin much smaller than that history. They begin with people leaving home, starting college, falling in love, making mistakes, disappointing their families, finding new ones, and trying to decide what kind of life they want for themselves. The past still follows them through family expectations, old loyalties, reputation, and the places they come from, but those pressures are only part of the story. What matters most is what people choose to do with the lives in front of them.
ELDERWILDS
SCTR-378 is a prehistoric sector of tribal settlements, sacred rites, dangerous wilderness, and old traditions carried from one generation to the next. Most communities survive through hunting, trade, oral history, and the knowledge of those who came before them. Bone passes from hand to hand as common currency, while rarer materials like Glimmer are kept for ceremonies, private bargains, and purposes few speak about openly. Above it all, the twin moons shape calendars, ritual, and belief, marking the nights when certain bloodlines are called to the Lunar Binding and those who survive emerge Moonbound.
Every tribe looks to an Orric and a Stargazer for guidance. One reads prophecy, omen, and judgment in the heavens, while the other studies the sky, prepares rites, records unusual births, and gives form to what has been seen. Their work touches nearly every major ceremony, but even they do not understand everything that moves through the Elderwilds. Glimmer appears where something has gone wrong, left behind by eldritch beings, failed rituals, and things that do not belong to the natural world. Some tribes treasure it. Others will not allow it near their fires.
The wilderness holds dangers older than any feud between tribes. Rifts open where the world should remain whole. Creatures learn voices they were never taught. Stars disappear from the sky without warning, and some beings choose to watch rather than hunt, studying anyone unfortunate enough to earn their attention. A few have names, such as the Lurian-Echo, but naming something has never made it safe. Beneath the twin moons, most people continue to live by firelight, never knowing how much of the dark is looking back.
SEIF
SCTR-637 is a post-collapse sector where modern civilization has given way to scattered settlements, scavenger routes, raider territories, and cities left to dry beneath a hostile sky. Survivors move between ruined districts in search of food, weapons, medicine, and anything worth trading, while mutants and altered wildlife have become part of the dangers surrounding what remains of human society.
Elemental titans roam beyond the surviving settlements, their movements reshaping the land around them. Some pass through without notice, while others claim entire regions and alter them beyond recognition. In one ruined city, enormous earth titans have transformed the streets into a vast stone labyrinth, raising walls, chambers, monuments, and strange offerings whose purpose is understood only by the creatures that built them.
Human communities have learned to survive around forces they cannot control. Trade continues where roads remain open, settlements rise wherever protection can be found, and rumors spread quickly about artifacts, safe passages, and places untouched by raiders. The greatest strongholds are rarely the ones built by people. In SCTR-637, survival often depends on understanding what has taken root in the ruins and knowing when something feared might offer shelter instead.
PROTOCOL
SCTR-1496 is centered on Serathous, a cybernetic world where technology, magic, and primal instinct have developed alongside one another. Its dominant people, the Serathi, share a common origin but have diverged into three distinct groups: the Praevorn, the Hexer, and the Fenrith. Each has adapted to Serathous in a different way, and the balance between them shapes life across the planet.
The Praevorn make up most of the population and rely on cybernetic enhancement to survive and compete in a world filled with stronger forces. Neural interfaces, augmented senses, artificial limbs, and other modifications are part of everyday life, allowing ordinary citizens to work, fight, and endure alongside those born with abilities of their own. Hexers, by contrast, are naturally sensitive to arcane energy and have learned to fuse magic with technology, manipulating both digital systems and mystical forces through technomancy. Fenrith draw their strength from something older, shifting into powerful wolf-like forms while remaining fully capable of moving through Serathous's dense urban world.
Nowhere do these differences collide more sharply than in New Eden. The city brings corporate power, underground networks, enhanced citizens, technomancers, and Fenrith packs into the same streets, where cooperation is often temporary and old suspicions are difficult to erase. Beneath the city's technological progress, questions of control, loyalty, and survival continue to pull the three Serathi groups against one another, leaving New Eden balanced between the systems that built it and the forces those systems have never fully contained.
